Recap of Lawrenceville Happenings: Neighborhood Updates 2/06/2025
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, Lawrenceville United and Lawrenceville Corporation hosted the Lawrenceville Happenings on general neighborhood updates to kickoff the 2025 year. The meeting was hosted at the CLP – Lawrenceville (279 Fisk St) from 6:30-8 PM and also via LU’s Facebook page. There were 25 in-person attendees and 10 online participants.
The meeting was led by the staff of LU (Dave Breingan & Emma Gamble) and the staff of LC (Sarah Trbovic, Kara Kimicata, & Ross Greenberg). The presentation reviewed the 2 organizations’ missions and programmatic work before providing relevant neighborhood updates to attendees. These updates included:
- Housing Updates
- 2024 Property Tax & Rent Rebates
- LIHEAP applications
- Homeowner Assistance Program reopening 2/14/2025-3/14/2025
- Planning Commission updates on the Housing Needs Assessment zoning package
- Transit Oriented Development updates
- Mobility Updates
- The Mobility Enhancement District
- The Bus Line Redesign DRAFT 1.0 from PRT
- Development Updates
- Liquor License Transfer at 4129 Butler St on 2/27/2025
- TRYP Hotel conversion meeting TBD
- Ongoing community engagement on 62nd Street site
- Review of the Lawrenceville Community Process
Throughout the presentation, attendees were invited to ask questions and share feedback. The meeting closed with calendar updates for LU & LC and staff asking what topics neighbors would like to see covered at Happening meetings.
