Why do you want to be on the LU Board? What would you like to work on within the neighborhood? I deeply respect the work that LU does and want to support that work. I’m interested in continuing to support greening/environmental efforts and expanding my focus to other very initiatives such as the AdvantAGE program, food access, and PEP Rally.
Please list Volunteer, Non-Profit, or Board Experience: Tree Pittsburgh Board 2014-2019 (Vice Chair and Secretary positions). I’ve worked in the non-profit field since 2015. Volunteer exp. includes Friends of Duncan Park, Lawrenceville Tree Tenders, Allegheny Cleanways, gleaning with the Pittsburgh Food Bank, and other great local organizations.
What makes Lawrenceville unique? Why? First neighborhood to pass inclusionary zoning! Also, I really love knowing my neighbors and being part of the community.
One of LU’s core values is equity and the organization will be undergoing anti-oppression trainings in summer 2022, which new Board members will participate in. What’s one idea you have for how LU should live out its commitment to equity? Continue to support housing justice and support our neighborhood public schools. Explore working with the Bloomfield Garfield Corporation or other partners on diversion programs.
