With Lawrenceville’s revitalization has come a major decrease in crime, millions of dollars in new investment, a major growth in housing prices, the regeneration of once vacant and dilapidated properties, and the flourishing of the neighborhood’s business district. Yet with Lawrenceville’s growth has come additional challenges, especially the preservation of affordable housing. With escalating median home sales prices and rental rates, many families have been priced out of the neighborhood. Believing that all residents should be able to benefit from the growth of the neighborhood, Lawrenceville United is committed to equitable development strategies and is a strong advocate for housing affordability to preserve the character and authenticity of the community.
